New Stress Magement Good Practice Case Studies |
The HSE's website not only contains good detailed advice on stress at work, but it also contains details of good practice in organisations such as the Fire Service and an NHS Trust. Both are areas of work subject to major stress int hew orkpalce by the very nature of the jobs undertaken. The definition of stress acording to the HSE is "'The adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demand placed on them." As most USRs know, work-related stress is a major cause of occupational ill health. It rersults in sickness absence, high staff turnover and poor performance in any business, but more than that it destroys lives of both the individual affected and also family and friends.
