The TUC NW are organising a focused event with experienced union safety reps, HSE and local Authority Inspectors. The event will be a half-day workshop that will look at; complaints and when to involve the enforcing authorities, accident investigations and inspection visits. The aim is that the output of the workshop will be a draft set of guidance notes for reps and inspectors on good practice in approaching these issues. Lord McKenzie, the Department of Work and Pensions Minister with responsibility for Health and Safety will be at the event. Experienced union health and safety reps are invited to the event, which will be held in Manchester on 20 October from 9.00 until 13.30.
