CWU Urges Branch Support For CCA

The Centre for Corporate Accountability is a charity concerned with the promotion of worker and public safety, corporate accountability and safety law enforcement. The CCA also provides Britain's only national advice service for families bereaved from work-related deaths - that supports families and helps ensure that the death is properly investigated and subject to proper prosecution scrutiny.

It was set up in 1999 as a not-for-profit organisation and received charitable status in August 2004. The CWU Health, Safety and Environment Department has supported the organisation and worked closely with the CCA since is creation. 

CCA, as a Charity, remains in a difficult financial position which worsened last year due to a reduction in charitable grants. CWU HQ agreed a £500 Donation this year along with our £350 National Affiliation in 2007.

The CWU/CCA Branch Affiliation Scheme was set up to assist the organisation and the CCA continues to seek the support of CWU Branches through the Trade Union Branch Affiliation Scheme which costs just £40 per annum and the CWU HQ Health Safety & Environment Department are encouraging Branches to give their full support by affiliating to the CCA as they need support to continue their ground-breaking work.
