BT Promise Better Support For Euro Health & Safety Week 2009

Reminding CWU USRs that Risk Assessment will continue to be the theme of the European Safety and Health Week this year, Dave Joyce CWU'sNational Health, Safety & Environment Officer says in LTB349/09 that BT promises better support for this year's events:

Last year surveys in BT started the process of identifying issues and understanding of the risk assessment process as it operates in the Company, albeit that participation was low.

This year BT management have agreed to work with the CWU to ensure that participation is much greater. As with last year there will be pre and post week surveys using questions to raise awareness and test understanding of risk assessment.

But this year there will also be an earlier pre briefing, and the pre and post week surveys will be conducted over a longer time span and via the R2L (route to learn) system in order to maximise returns.

Similar to last year there will be a poster campaign in BT, and standing presentations will be on display at major BT sites.

An Executive health and safety team will be meeting with BT management again on 13 May to make further preparations for the week in BT.
