Liverpool
To Host First Consultation Event

More than 100 key stakeholders of the North West business, public and third sectors will meet today (8 Jan) to help determine the future strategy of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

HSE will host the first of seven consultation events on their strategy: 'The Health and Safety of Great Britain \\ Be Part of the Solution', in Liverpool on Thursday 8th Jan.

Delegates from charities, industry and manufacturers, special interest groups, trade bodies and trade unions will join educationalists, health and safety professionals and service sector specialists to discuss the HSE’s new strategy.
The health and safety regulator said that the recent slowing of improvement in Great Britain's (GB) health and safety performance; the rapidly changing industrial landscape and a ‘strong desire’ to regain the health and safety brand from those who misuse it to proliferate bureaucracy has driven the need to consult on a new strategy.
Judith Hackitt, Chair of the HSE and host of the Liverpool event, commented:

“We’re delighted that so many North West stakeholders have already engaged with this consultation. I look forward to listening to their views on how they can be part of the solution and would urge all those who could not attend the event to respond to our consultation by letter, email or online.”
