Before joining BT I was a Radio Operator in The Royal Navy, this is where I started to learn how important health and safety is. Following my service I became a supporter of Help for Heroes and the RNLI.
I joined BT and the union in 1994. I have worked in a variety of roles in BT, including 150, BTLB, BT Chairman office, Actual Financial Loss, and currently working on Fibre Enquiries & External Network Relocation.
Within the union, I wanted to become more involved and became a member of the Branch Executive Committee of the Mersey Branch in 2014. Later a branch Safety Rep in October 2015, and took over as Health & Safety co-ordinator for Mersey Branch in August 2016.
I am enjoying my new role and am committed to ensuring a safe environment for all our members.
On a personal note, I’ve been married since 1997, we have 3 rescue cats and a rabbit. My wife and I are keen supporters of Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary who do an amazing job.
In my spare time I enjoy DIY, reading, socialising with my friends and family and a glass or five of wine.
